BARNEGAT SHOOTING UPDATE

Barnegat Township, NJ – At approximately 1 am today (8/28), the Barnegat Police Department was called to 379 N. Main Street in Barnegat for reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival they found Dylan Satorius, 25, resident of the home, had sustained a single gunshot wound to the chest. He was transported to Atlantic Care Hospital in Atlantic City to undergo surgery for the wound. At last check he remains in critical, but stable condition.

Barnegat secured the scene and called in the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Major Crimes Unit and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department to assist in the investigation. Once information on the alleged suspects was collected, it was radioed to surrounding law enforcement. Within a short time Stafford Police Department made a motor vehicle stop of a Red 1999 Chevy Blazer and located two subjects, the driver Tyrone Lane and his passenger Roger Lucas. Both men were found in possession of stolen property and investigators would later learn that Roger Lucas was present at the time of the shooting.

As additional information was developed regarding the circumstances, it was learned that Roger Lucas and a man known as Sean Harmon, 21, of Maryland became involved in an argument with the victim that ended with the three (3) men separating. The investigation found that Harmon later went to the victim’s N. Main Street residence and shot the victim as he exited his home.

After the capture of Lane and Lucas by Stafford Police, the partnering agencies would track Harmon, who was identified as the alleged shooter, to George Burke’s Brook Street residence in Barnegat. At approximately 8 am, members of the Ocean County Regional SWAT team took Harmon into custody, along with George Burke.
