BRICK MAN ARRESTED/CHARGED WITH CRIMINAL SEXUAL CONTACT

On Monday, August 10, 2015, Jackson Police Det. Edward Howe and Ocean County Prosecutor’s Special Victims Unit Det. Melissa Matthews arrested Daniel E. Toth, 38, of Brick, NJ. The arrest was the result of an investigation initiated Monday (8/10) after a male, 15 years of age, reported the alleged incident to the Jackson Township Police Department.

Toth voluntarily responded Monday to Jackson Police Headquarters regarding the allegations. Following an investigation by the partnering agencies, with the assistance of the Ocean County High Tech Crime Unit, Assistant Prosecutor Christine Lento approved Toth be charged with Criminal Sexual Contact pursuant to N.J.S.A. 2C:14-3 and Endangering the Welfare of a Child pursuant to N.J.S.A. 2C: 24-4a. The Honorable Rochelle Gizinski, J.S.C. set bail at $100,000 with no 10% option. Nicole’s Law (No victim contact) has been implemented and the Division of Child Protection and Permanency were notified.

The media and public are reminded that criminal charges are merely accusations and that the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
