CR539 SAFETY INITIATIVE UPDATE
Since the August 15th start of the CR539 Police Partnership Safety Initiative, the partnering police agencies have stopped a total of 301 vehicles during their coordinated saturation patrols, accounting for 169 summons issued and ten (10) arrests.
Speeding summons top the charts at 50, followed by 34 other moving violations issued. Most important is the fact that a good majority of motorists are choosing to drive responsibly and there have been no fatalities or accidents involving serious injury during the period. OCPO and the partnering agencies pray that this final statistic continues. The coordinated patrols are scheduled to continue until September 15, 2015.
