Tomorrow begins the full coordinated enforcement element of the CR539 Initiative. Members of all these departments will join forces to interdict agressive/unsafe drivers along the entire stretch of CR539 through Ocean County:

NJ State Police Troop “C” – Red Lion and Tuckerton Stations
NJ State Police Troop “C” – Tactical Patrol Unit
NJ State Police – Transportation Safety Bureau
Barnegat Police Department
Jackson Police Department
Joint Base Military Police
Lacey Police Department
Little Egg Harbor Police Department
Manchester Police Department
Plumsted Police Department
Stafford Police Department
Tuckerton Police Department.
Both marked and unmarked units will be utilized in the enforcement effort. Unmark to detect – Marked to stop the violator.
This joint initiative is in response to a rash of fatal and serious crashes along 539. It’s goal is to save lives – not to raise revenue. The patrolling units would prefer to spend their day assisting motorist to arrive safely at their destinations – not writing tickets. Please do you part and drive responsibly.
