Jackson Troop 462 Helps Prosecutor Special Victims Unit in an Effort to Comfort Child Victims

Jackson Girl Scout Troop 462 was represented today by three amazing ladies – L-R: Millie (orange shirt), Lauren (Striped shirt) and Eileen (green vest). Today the girls of Jackson Troop 462 proved that you’re never too young to have a lasting impact on your community. As part of a very special activity to achieve a Girl Scout Bronze Award, the troop members were required to complete 20 hours of community service and create something that would have everlasting positive effect on their community.

Troop 462 rose to the challenge and surpassed all expectations by coming up with a brilliant idea. The girls handcrafted and painted five beautifully decorated bookshelves, stocked them with a full array of children’s books and donated them to institutions dedicated to the care and comfort of our children. Two went to Jersey Shore Medical Center, another two went to Oceans of Love, and finally Troop 462 gifted one to OCPO’s Tina’s House.

Ocean County Prosecutor Joseph D. Coronato and members of the Special Victim’s Unit took delivery today of their very special gift. The girls quickly set it up in a place where it will have a lasting positive effect. It stands in a very special room designed to provide a feeling of comfort and safety to child victims.

The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office and all citizens of Ocean County owe a debt of gratitude to the girls of Jackson Troop 462. Job well done!!!
