OCEAN COUNTY MAN CAUGHT IN CONTINUING CHILD PORNOGRAPHY CYBER DRAG NET

Ocean County Prosecutor Joseph D. Coronato today announced the arrest of Vincent Spataro, 63, of Berkeley Township on the charge of Possession/Distribution of Child Pornography. The Ocean County Prosecutor’s High Tech Crime Unit (HTCU), U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and Berkeley Township Police Department teamed up in this latest proactive operation to stop child exploitation.

The arrest is the result of a referral from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children through the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. A search warrant was executed by the partnering agencies this morning at 89 Carlisle Rd in the Silver Ridge Park West neighborhood, Berkeley Township, NJ. The search resulted in the seizure of computers and hard drives located in the residence. Detectives located videos/images of prepubescent children engaged in sexual acts.

As a result of the evidence located, OCPO Assistant Prosecutor Kristin Pressman approved charges of 1 count of 2nd Degree Distribution of Child Pornography and 1 count of 3rd Degree Possession of Child Pornography. Bail was set at $50,000 no 10% by the Honorable Judge Wendel Daniels, JSC.

The media and the public are reminded that criminal charges are merely accusations and that the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
