Ocean County Resident Arrested on Child Pornography Charges

Ocean County Prosecutor Joseph D. Coronato today announced the arrest of Vincent Calandra, 40, of Jackson Township, on (1) one count of 3rd Degree Possession of Child Pornography and (1) one count of 2nd Degree Distribution of Child Pornography.  The arrest is the result of continuous joint operations by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s High Tech Crime Unit (HTCU) and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), with help from local law enforcement partners.

This morning the Ocean County HTCU, HSI and Jackson Police Department executed a search warrant at the Woodstock Court residence of Calandra in Jackson Twp.  The search was the result of a referral from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children to the OCPO HTCU.  The referral stated a person within the jurisdiction of Ocean County was distributing suspected child pornography over the Internet.  An investigation was initiated by the partnering agencies and the Woodstock Court residence was identified as the alleged source of the images.

The subsequent execution of the search warrant resulted in evidence supporting the above charges against Vincent Calandra by the OCPO HTCU.  The charges were approved by Assistant Prosecutor Hillary Bryce.  Calandra’s bail was set at $100,000 no 10% by the Honorable Judge Daniel F. Sahin of the Jackson Township Municipal Court.

The media and the public are reminded that criminal charges are merely accusations and that these defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
