OCPO AND FRIENDS TAKE METHAMPHETAMINE DRUGS OFF THE STREETS IN OCEAN COUNTY

On Wednesday November 2, 2016, members from the Brick Police Drug Enforcement Unit, Selective Enforcement Team, Special Emergency Response Team (SERT), in conjunction with the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Special Operations Group executed Court Authorized search warrants at 504 Pinecroft Drive, Brick and 616 Cozy Way, Toms River. These search warrants were conducted following several months long investigations into the distribution of methamphetamine.

Stephen Henry, 63 years old, Caucasian, male of Toms River was the primary target of the methamphetamine distribution investigation that spanned throughout the Ocean County area.  Henry was located and arrested at 504 Pinecroft Drive.

As a result of the search warrant executions at Stephen Henry’s Brick Twp. residence (504 Pinecroft Drive) and his Toms River residence (616 Cozy Way), detectives/officers seized approximately 200 grams/6 ounces of methamphetamine packaged for distribution. In addition, $237.00 in assorted U.S. currency believed to be the proceeds of CDS distribution was also seized.

While officers were searching his Brick Twp. residence, a small homemade explosive device was discovered in the garage. As a result, members from the New Jersey State Police Explosive Ordinance Disposal Unit (NJSP/EOD) were notified and responded to the residence to investigate the explosive device further. The surrounding area residents had to be evacuated from their homes while NJSP/EOD members investigated the explosive device. The NJSP/EOD Unit rendered the explosive device inoperable and surrounding area residents returned to their homes a short time later. No injuries were reported.
