OCPO & TRPD MAKE ARRESTS IN TWO SEXUAL ASSAULTS

On December 12, 2014, in two unrelated cases, the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Special Victims Unit and the Toms River Township Police Department made two separate arrests in Sexual Assault and Endangering the Welfare of a Child cases.

In the first case, OCPO Special Victims Unit Detective Lindsay Woodfield and Toms River PD Detective Jennifer Grob arrested Jason Walsh, 42, of Bayville, NJ, on charges of Sexual Assault and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.  The alleged assault of the 16 year old female, who was known to Walsh, took place while Walsh gave her a “driving lesson”.  Walsh is a Tier III Megan’s Law Registrant and at the time of the incident was required to wear a GPS tracking device.  Detective Woodfield contacted the defendant’s parole officer and obtained the records for said GSP device.  These records revealed that the defendant was at the exact location during the time and date where the victim reported the incident to have taken place.

Ocean County Superior Court Judge Patricia B. Roe J.S.C. set bail at $150,000 no 10% and Walsh was remanded to Ocean County Jail.  The court has imposed no contact with the victim as a condition of the bail.

In the second investigation, OCPO Special Victims Unit Detective Anthony Paciulli and Toms River PD Detective Jennifer Grob arrested Hernan Lokito-Flores, 19, of Toms River, charging him with Sexual Assault and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.  The female victim, known to the defendant, was allegedly sexually assaulted at the age of 14.

Ocean County Superior Court Judge Patricia B. Roe J.S.C. set bail at $50,000 no 10% and Flores was remanded to Ocean County Jail.  The court has imposed no contact with the victim as a condition of the bail.

The media and public are reminded that criminal charges are merely accusations and that the defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
