Ocean County Prosecutor Joseph D. Coronato and Plumsted Township Police Chief Matthew Petrecca announced today that Arthur Haskoor, 56, of 120 Evergreen Road, New Egypt was charged with Murder and Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose in connection with the death of his wife Susanne Haskoor, 47, at their residence yesterday in Plumsted Township.

The decedent wife, Susanne Haskoor was found outside their residence at approximately 10 am. Arthur Haskoor was found inside the residence several hours later after law enforcement officers surrounded the residence. Haskoor had left a note on the door warning that he was armed and would harm anyone who attempted to enter the residence.

Haskoor suffered serious, self-inflicted injuries. He is presently hospitalized in stable but critical condition at Capital Health Regional Trauma Center in Trenton.

The arrest warrant was authorized by the Honorable Wendel E. Daniels, P.J.Cr.P. Judge Daniels set bail at $1 million dollars with no ten percent option. Plumsted Detective Brant Uricks and Detective John Murphy of the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office are the lead investigators.

Prosecutor Coronato along with Chief Petrecca thanked and praised all of the partnering agencies that provided manpower and resources during yesterday’s stand-off with Mr. Haskoor. Prosecutor Coronato stated that the investigation is continuing and additional evidence is being gathered by members of the Prosecutor’s Major Crimes Unit, the Plumsted Police Department and the Ocean County Sherrifs Department CSI.
