PROSECUTOR’S SPECIAL OPERATIONS GROUP JOINS FORCES WITH LOCAL POLICE IN LATEST HEROIN BUST
Ocean County Prosecutor Joseph D. Coronato, announced today the culmination of a multi-agency cooperative investigation into drug activity impacting the Ocean County area.
Detectives from the Prosecutor’s Special Operations Group, Northern Enforcement Unit conducted a cooperative multi agency investigation with members of the Brick Township Police Department, the Manchester Township Police Department and the Lakewood Township Police Department resulting in the arrest of three Ocean County men and an Asbury Park man on various drug charges.
Detectives from the Prosecutor’s Special Operations Group, Northern Enforcement Unit along with members of the Brick Township Police Department Drug Enforcement Unit, the Manchester Township Police Narcotics Enforcement Team and the Lakewood Township Police Department conducted an investigation into drug activity impacting the northern Ocean County area. During the course of the investigation Detectives identified Mathew Davis age 24 of Lakewood Township and Steven Stallworth age 29 of Asbury Park as distributing quantities of heroin in the Ocean area. The investigation identified residences in Brick Township and Manchester Township as being utilized by Mr. Davis and Mr. Stallworth to store and distribute quantities of heroin. Detectives also identified a 2016 Jeep Cherokee as being utilized by Davis and Stallworth to facilitate their drug distribution activities.
Detectives were able to obtain no knock search warrants for 112 Greenwood Loop Road and 841 Route 70 both located in Brick Township NJ as well as a residence in Manchester specifically 2684 Spruce Drive, Manchester Township NJ. Detectives also obtained a search warrant for the 2016 Jeep Cherokee. During the early evening hours of November 1, 2016 Detectives from the Prosecutor’s Northern Enforcement Unit along with members of the Brick Township Police Department Drug Enforcement Unit, the Brick Township Police k-9 Unit, the Brick Township Police S.E.R.T. Team the
Manchester Township Police Narcotics Enforcement Team, the Lakewood Township Police Department, the Ocean County Regional SWAT Team and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department K-9 Unit executed the no knock search warrants at the subject residences as well as a search warrant on the 2016 Jeep Cherokee. Upon executing the search warrant at 840 Route 70 two individuals identified as Charles Novellano age 41 and Daniel Alvarado age 47 both of Brick Township were located inside that residence.
As a result of the investigation and the execution of the search warrants, police seized approximately 2,350 individual dosage units of heroin along with approximately $1500 in cash.
The following individuals were arrested and charged:
Mathew Davis, age 24, 1468 Kerry Court, Lakewood NJ was arrested and charged with Possession of Heroin, Possession of Heroin with Intent to Distribute and Distribution of Heroin. The Honorable Superior Court Judge Wendel E. Daniels Pr.J.Cr.P. set bail on Mr. Davis at $150,000 no ten percent. Mr. Davis was subsequently lodged in the Ocean County Jail.
Steven Stallworth, age 29, 317 7th Avenue Asbury Park NJ was arrested and charged with Possession of Heroin, Possession of Heroin with Intent to Distribute and Distribution of Heroin. The Honorable Superior Court Judge Wendel E. Daniels Pr.J.Cr.P. set bail on Mr. Stallworth at $150,000 no ten percent. Mr. Stallworth was subsequently lodged in the Ocean County Jail.
Charles Novellano, age 41, 88 Stephan Road, Brick Township NJ was arrested and charged with Possession of Heroin and Possession of Heroin with Intent to Distribute. Mr. Novellano was released on a summons pending a future court date. No Photo available.
Daniel Alvarado, age 47, 55 Whitesman Way, Brick Township NJ was arrested and charged with Possession of Heroin and Possession of Heroin with Intent to Distribute. Mr. Alvarado was released on a summons pending a future court date. No photo available.
The media and public are reminded that criminal charges are merely accusations and that these defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
