Six Flags Fire

Six_Flags_logo.svgJACKSON TOWNSHIP, NEW JERSEY – On Monday evening, at approximately 10:07pm, fire personnel from Jackson Mills and Cassville Fire Companies responded to the Six Flags Safari Park reference a reported fire at an animal enclosure, as well as, at least seven brush fires outside the safari park area.

The animal enclosure was located within the south end of the safari commons area. Two animals described as a type of antelope were in the enclosure at the time of the fire, but escaped unharmed. No animals or individuals were hurt in the fires. It took the responding fire companies approximately 20 minutes to extinguish all the fires. The single structure animal enclosure was completely destroyed.

Today the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Arson Investigations Unit, Ocean County Fire Marshal, Jackson Township Police Depart Detective Bureau, Ocean County Sheriff’s Department CSI & K9 Units and the NJ Forrest Fire Service will conduct a thorough investigation to determine the cause and origins of the fires.
