Toms River Man Arrested for Theft by Deception and Issuing Bad Checks

Toms River, NJ – Richard Michae Ciullo, 51, of Toms River was arrested today for Theft by Deception and Passing Bad Checks by members of the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Economic Crimes Unit and the Toms River Township Police Department.

In May of 2014 the unit received a report that Ciullo of “Just Results LLC” allegedly received a $3000 deposit to provide advertising for several family businesses, yet failed to provide any services.  Realizing that Ciullo had not performed any of the contracted advertising, the victim requested a refund.  Ciullo responded by allegedly writing a check knowing that there were insufficient funds to cover the refund.

Just after 6 am today, Ocean County Prosecutor Economic Crimes Unit members Sgt. Cindy Boyd, Dets. Brad Frank, Ryan Mahoney and Mark Malinowski, along with Toms River Police Det. Robert O’Neill responded to Ciullo’s Sun Valley Road residence and placed him under arrest without incident.  Ciullo has been lodged in the Ocean County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail with no 10% option.

Anyone who may have knowledge of additional fraudulent activity by Ciullo is asked to contact Det. Brad Frank of the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Economic Crimes Unit at 732 929-2027 Ext. 3689.

The media and the public are reminded that criminal charges are merely accusations and that the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
