Kane In Your Corner: Perrini and Sons Fencing faces charges after News 12 investigation

MANAHAWKIN – The owner of an Ocean County fencing company that was the subject of a Kane In Your Corner investigation faces charges of theft by deception, as additional unhappy customers continue to come forward to both law enforcement and News 12 New Jersey.

Joe Cassiba, of Manahawkin, wasn’t surprised when he watched Kane In Your Corner’s investigation into Perrini & Sons Fencing earlier this month. In April, he hired Bob Perrini to install a fence on his property.

“He took a $1,200 deposit and did absolutely nothing,” Cassiba says.

Like Frank Ercolino, who was featured in the initial report, Cassiba says Perrini failed to show up for numerous appointments, then, when tracked down, offered a slew of excuses. After waiting six months, he says he took Perrini to court and won a judgment against him, which he has been unable to collect.

The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office has charged Perrini with five counts of theft by deception. A spokesman says Perrini took deposits from all five victims, including Cassiba, but failed to do any work. In addition, state records show that for nearly a year, Perrini was working without a valid contractor’s registration.

After several weeks of phone calls, Kane In Your Corner was finally able to contact Bob Perrini. He promised to refund everyone’s money, but admitted that to date, he had not issued any refunds. Perrini also said he could not discuss the criminal charges against him.
