On Thursday October 29, 2015, Assistant Ocean County Prosecutor Ehsan F. Chowdhry was honored by the New Jersey Commission on Professionalism in the Law in conjunction with the New Jersey State Bar Association, as the recipient of the Professional Lawyer of the Year Award 2015. The award was presented on behalf of a specialty bar association, specifically, the New Jersey Muslim Lawyers Association.

AP Chowdhry adds this honor to a long list of outstanding career accomplishments. Among other highlights: AP Chowdhry is the first government prosecutor to receive the Ten Leaders Award for Government Prosecutors, he is certified as a criminal trial attorney by the NJ Supreme Court, only one of five attorney’s (only prosecutor) in New Jersey who is certified by the American Bar Association’s National Board of Trial Advocacy, designated an Advocate by the National Institute of Trial Advocacy (NITA), and recognized last month as Top Lawyer 2015 in the Global Directory of Who’s Who.

AP Chowdhry was awarded this prestigious honor along with recipients from several other county bar associations. The recipient of the Ocean County Bar Association award was the Honorable Vincent J. Grasso, A.J.S.C., who recently retired as the Assignment Judge for the Ocean Vicinage.

Guest speakers at the event included the Honorable Barry T. Albin, Associate Justice of the New Jersey Supreme Court, Honorable Joel B. Rosen (Retired Magistrate Judge for the United States District Court, District of New Jersey), and Chief Judge Jerome B. Simandle for the United States District Court, District of New Jersey. The recipients received this award based on their legal competence, contribution to the legal community and betterment of the law.

Fun Fact: AP Chowdhry served as Law Clerk for the Honorable Judge Grasso in 2005 & 2006 preparing for an outstanding career with OCPO.
