Three Arrested as Ocean County Special Operations Group Continues Reach Outside County Borders

Toms River, NJ – Ocean County Prosecutor Joseph D. Coronato announced today a cooperative multi-jurisdictional investigation conducted by the Prosecutor’s Special Operations Group (SOG) that resulted in the arrest of three Trenton individuals for allegedly dealing heroin to Ocean County residents.  This operation is the second time SOG has had success operating outside the county in an effort to stem the flow of Heroin into Ocean County.  SOG’s prior operation targeted four Newark individuals who allegedly established a drug distribution network in Ocean County and operated a CDS manufacturing facility located at 190 Emmet Street in Newark.

Prosecutor Coronato stated, “Drug dealers importing their deadly product from jurisdictions outside of our county are targeting Ocean County residents for profit.  To stop the high number of overdose deaths we must stem this flow of illegal narcotics.  These arrests highlight the tremendous drug interdiction capabilities of the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Special Operations Group.  I commend the brave members of the partnering agencies for their courage and the sacrifice that they make on a regular basis in order to send a clear message to dealers that they will be pursued relentlessly and that Ocean County is not an open market to drug dealers.”

On Tuesday June 23, 2014, members of the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office SOG Southern Enforcement Group, OCPO Major Crimes Unit, Stafford Police Department, and Ocean County Sheriff’s Department CIU in conjunction with the Mercer County Prosecutor Office Narcotic Task Force, Trenton Police Department, and NJSP Teams Unit arrested Dihmir A. Jones and executed a No-Knock Search Warrant at 28 Wood Street, Apt. B Trenton, NJ.   The partnering agencies investigation and subsequent search of the residence resulted in the seizure of one hundred and ninety four (194) glassine envelopes of heroin.  Additionally, Lautherica D. Davenport and Arlaya R. Harris were placed under arrest as a result of the execution of the search warrant.

Below are the arrested defendants, charges and bail info:

Dihmir A. Jones, 23, of 1427 Stuyvesant Avenue, Trenton, NJ was charged with Possession of Heroin and Possession of Heroin with the Intent to Distribute.  Bail was set at $200,000 cash.

Lautherica D. Davenport, 26, (brother of Dihmir) of 28 Wood Street, Apt B, Trenton, NJ was charged with Possession of Heroin and Possession of Heroin with Intent to Distribute.  Bail was set at $35,000 cash.

Arlaya R. Harris (Female), 23, of 28 Wood Street, Apt B, Trenton, NJ was charged with Possession of Heroin and Possession of Heroin with Intent to Distribute.  Bail was set at $25,000 cash.

The media and public are reminded that criminal charges are merely accusations and that these defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
